We represent Nar-Anon Family Groups in Arkansas, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Michigan, Missouri and Wisconsin. Our Nar-Anon Family Groups deal with the very real and growing problem of addiction and its impact on the family. If someone you love suffers from addiction, come and join us.

Mission Statement
The Nar-Anon Family Groups are a worldwide fellowship for those affected by someone else’s addiction. As a twelve step program, we offer our help by sharing our experience, strength, and hope.

Vision Statement
We will carry the message of hope throughout the world to those affected
by the addiction of someone near to them. We will do this by:
Letting them know they are no longer alone;
Practicing the Twelve Steps of Nar-Anon;
Encouraging growth through service;
Making information available through Public Information, Hospitals and Instututions, and websites;
Changing our own attitudes

Finding a Meeting
~
Nar‑Anon gives you something priceless: a room full of people who get it, who don’t judge, and who know how to cope in healthy ways. It’s one of the strongest resources you can give yourself. To find an in-person or virtual meeting in your area, please visit our meetings page.
Service Opportunities
~
Current service opportunities within the Midwest Region are: Vice Chair, Delegate and Alternate Delegate. Without a delegate, the region will not be represented at the World Interim Meetings. Without a Vice-Chair, our current chair doesn’t have anyone to train to fill her shoes when her term is up and the region will be left without a trained leader.
Sponsorship
~
What is a Sponsor? A sponsor is a member of Nar-Anon with whom you can share intimate thoughts and feelings about how you have been affected by a loved one’s drug addiction. A sponsor will guide you through the Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions so that you can apply them to your daily life. A sponsor can guide you by making suggestions and by sharing their experiences.
What is Nar-Anon?
~
Have you tried everything you can think of to change the addict and nothing seems to work? Don’t give up. There is hope. If you would like your life to be different, Nar-Anon can offer you a better way to live. You will meet people at Nar-Anon meetings who understand your frustration.
Nar-Anon is a fellowship for families and friends of addicts whose lives have been or are being affected by someone else’s addiction.
We will respect your confidence and anonymity, as we know you will respect ours. We hope to give you the assurance that no situation is too difficult and no unhappiness is too great to be overcome.
The 12 Steps
~
The Twelve Steps provide a catalyst for change that can be profound and lasting. Working these steps can transform the lives of individuals and families.
Having made a commitment to change by working the Twelve Steps of Nar-Anon, we recognize that recovery is a process and we will use these steps again and again. Like the slogan, progress not perfection, each time we work a step, we gain a deeper understanding of ourselves and the progress we have made. We can compare the Twelve Steps to a flight of stairs. We use them many times until they become a way of life, leading us to peace, joy and serenity.

Traditions
~
Our group experience suggests that the unity of the Nar-Anon Family Groups depends on our adherence to the twelve traditions.
In most organizations there are rules and regulations to keep order. In Nar-Anon we have no rules, but rather a set of spiritual principles that guide us in a way no rules or regulations can. It requires dedication without reserve or self-will. These principles are effective because members are willing to be devoted to the practice and application of our spiritual tools.
